What is the overall atmosphere or mood of Act 1? What techniques does Miller use to create this atmosphere?

    The overall mood of Act 1 is fear. The techniques that Miller uses to create this mood is how he creates fear in act 1, and how he creates it is by how the people have fear that the devil is in Salem.

    I agree with Leslie, because Abigail creates fear for the other girls. She pretty much forces them into accusing other people and forces them into worshiping the devil.

    I agree with Leslie, the people are very scared about the devil being in Salem. Abigail and the girls have started this lie and instead of just telling the truth, they let everyone get scared.

    he uses these accusing girls to create this horrifying mood. they create this mood by murdering people..

    i agree with leslie, because people fear that the devil is in Salem. they have fear because they think that the devil is going to get to them.

    He uses the mood of the story which is dark and sinster in the act 1 story. Fear! i agree with leslie

    The mood of act one I think is fear. The reason I think that is because everyone is feared by a lie that this girl has made up.

    I think the overall mood of act 1 is fear. Because Abigail has all the other girls scared and the girls don't know won't to do so they do what she does just so they won't get in trouble

    I agree with tylerk the mood is very murderis. Abigail is going crazy accusing people of witch craft. people are scared of getting accused and dieing
