Act 2, Question 2

How do the lies that are spoken and the truth that is revealed in Act 2 compare with those of Act 1? How might truths and lies relate to the development of the play’s theme?

  1. The lies that are spoken and the truth that are revealed in Act 2 compare with the ones of Act 1 is that on act 1 the girls fake that they saw this peron with the devil, and how Betty acts that she's under a spell (or whatever she doing to act that she's sick). The truths and the lies relate to the development of the play's theme is by the more lies the girls keep on telling the more people start getting hanged and more people getting accused.

  2. The lies that are spoken and the truth that are revealed in Act 2 compare with the ones of Act 1 because in Act 1 the girls are going crazy and accusing everyone and the truth is coming out to John Proctor. He knows the truth and so does Goody Proctor.

  3. The lies and truth that are spoken in the acts that relate them are that the girls are saying they seen these specific women with the devil and they had seen no one. The lies relate to the theme because the more the girls lie and shake and all the weird things they do, people die.

  4. I agree with Stormie, because the lies and truths of act 2 compare with act 1 because the girls still act crazing and accusing other people.

  6. I agree with Stormie. All of these girls have been making up lies the whole time, but now they are actually having people get caught so it looks real.

  7. In act 2 the girls start to accuse people that shouldnt even be considered a witch. Like when Abigail accuses Goody Proctor because she wants her dead so she can be with John Proctor.

  11. The lies in act 1 were pretty simple, as you get into act 2 the lies get pretty complex, and they start acting them out and not just accusing. the theme is murder, he lies are the reason for this theme, the truth doesnt play a big part in the plays theme.
