Act 4, Question 2

Which characters in this play are static (unchanging) and which are dynamic (capable of growth)? How do you know?

  1. Abigail is static she never will come clean and tell the truth. Mary is dynamic she changes, and tells the truth after lying to the court.

  2. I think that abigail is the most static because she doesnt ever tell the truth, she just goes along with her story throughout the whole play. Mr. Hale is the most dynamic because he changes his beliefs about the events throughout the whole play.

  6. i think rebecca nurse and her husband are sstatic throughout the play. they never change their personality or their views.
    i think mary is vapable of gorwth because she didnt want all this to happen, but she was scared of abigail.

The characters in this play that are static is Abigail and the girls,but mainly its Abigail because she like threats them,so they play along with the whole acting and lying.The ones that are dynamic is Mary Warren and Mr.Hale.The reason how i knw is because they try to tell the truth,mary is trying to confess that all they have been doing,the acting and the lying is all fake.And Mr. Hale believes John Proctor so he tries to convince the judges that the girls are making everything up.

  9. Abigail is the one that never changes. She never told the truth. She just let all those people die because she wanted attention. I think the person who could have grown more were the girls that were follwoing Abigail. They all could have stood up and said it was wrong to do what they were doing but they never did.
